I'm a husband, a dad, a farmer, and a soil scientist. My beautiful, hard-working wife, Emily, is a full-time healthcare worker, and together we are raising our 13-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter in the district. For the last few years I've been coaching the kids' soccer and basketball teams. It has always been my dream to build a farm to grow healthy and locally-raised food. Since 2014 I've been doing just that: raising hay, livestock, and market vegetables. Before that, I was teaching mostly 1st-generation college students about soil and natural resources. I'm also a community college graduate who used my two-year degree as a stepping stone to earn my Soil Science Ph.D.
  • The unaffordability of housing is the number one issue affecting our communities and is the number 1 issue I will focus on
  • We are a farming and forest community and as such we are extremely vulnerable to drought and fire. I will focus on building resiliency for our communities facing a drier, warmer climate
  • All Oregonians should have access to affordable and effective health care, including mental and reproductive care.
I'm most passionate about supporting housing for our neighbors, keeping our farms and forests healthy and making sure we are healthy and strong
