Brian Maher (Nebraska)
Brian Maher is the Nebraska Commissioner of Education. He assumed office on July 1, 2023.
The Nebraska State Board of Education appointed Maher as Nebraska Commissioner of Education on March 31, 2023, to replace Matthew Blomstedt. He took office on July 1, 2023.[1]
Biography
Prior to his appointment as Nebraska Commissioner of Education, Maher worked as the CEO and Executive Director of the South Dakota Board of Regents. He previously served as superintendent of public school systems in South Dakota and Nebraska.[1]
Education
Maher earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics at Midland Lutheran College, and a master's and doctorate in education administration from the University of Nebraska.[1]
