The city of Corpus Christi, Texas, held elections for mayor and city council on November 8, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 22, 2016. All eight city council seats were up for election.[1] Ben Molina defeated incumbent Brian Rosas in the Corpus Christi City Council District 2 general election.[2]

2014
The city of Corpus Christi, Texas held elections for city council on November 4, 2014. The candidate filing deadline was August 18, 2014. Eight council seats - three at-large and districts one through five - were up for election. In District 2, the candidates were Brian Rosas, Jano Andrasik and Joshua Tijerina. Incumbent Chad Magill ran for an at-large seat. Because no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the general election, the top two vote-getters - Rosas and Tijerina - faced each other in a runoff election on December 16, 2014.[3] Rosas was the winner.[4]
