Brian Shockley is a judge on the First Circuit Court for Worcester County in Maryland.[1] He was appointed to the court by Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) in December 2010 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Theodore R. Eschenburg.[2]

Shockley assumed office on January 27, 2011 and was elected to a full fifteen-year term in November 2012.[3] He became the court's administrative judge on August 6, 2017, following the retirement of Judge Thomas C. Groton III.[4]

Shockley received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College in 1987 and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1992. His professional experience includes work as an assistant state's attorney for Worcester County, a law clerk for Baltimore County Circuit Court Judge Leonard S. Jacobson, and an attorney with Williams, Morre, Shockley & Harrison, LLP.[3]

Shockley ran unopposed for his appointed seat on the First Circuit Court[5] Shockley was successful in his bid, receiving 99.4 percent of the vote.[6][7]
