Brian Terlaje

Brian Terlaje (Democratic Party) (also known as BJ) is the Mayor of Yona in Guam. He assumed office on January 6, 2025. His current term ends on January 1, 2029.

Terlaje (Democratic Party) ran for election for Mayor of Yona in Guam. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.

Biography

Brian Terlaje was born in the village of Yona in Guam. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1999. He earned a bachelor's degree in Pacific Asian Studies from the University of Guam. His career experience includes founding Hui Ohana, a dance group specializing in Hawaiian and Tahitian dances; teaching CHamoru language and cultural arts at Oceanview Middle School in 2004; serving as project manager for the CHamoru Language through Chants and Songs (CLCS) project under Pa’a Taotao Tano’; and working as a CHamoru Traditional Arts teacher at John F. Kennedy High School. He has also served as a singer in the St. Francis Catholic Church choir, a prayer leader, youth chairman for the Yoña Parish Council, and a member of the Yoña Municipal Planning Council.^[1]
