Campaign themes
2016
Walton's campaign website highlighted the following issues:
“ |
Pass Heartbeat Bill: My opponent has turned his back on our unborn children when he co-sponsored the Heartbeat Bill in 2014 but then voted against it, and the failed to fully support the Heartbeat Bill in 2015. We cannot trust him to stand up to Governor Kasich in defending out unborn children. Change Child Custody Laws: The decline in our society can be attributed to the decline in the family unit (and education). Our society has lost the attributes of personal responsibility, personal accountability, work ethic, and respect; this can all be attributed to the decline in the family unit. We cannot force couples to stay married but we can change the Ohio custody laws to ensure both parents have the opportunity to be involved in their child’s life. BRAC:
Medicaid Expansion/Obamacare: The State of Ohio, nor the federal government, can afford to hand out free healthcare to a majority of the Country. However, something does need to be done. The answer lies within regulating the insurance, healthcare, pharmaceutical companies to where they cannot take advantage of average, hardworking citizens. It is unacceptable that insurance companies can limit, deny, cut-off, or otherwise make coverage unaffordable. Support our Police Officers and First Responders:
