An effort to recall Bridget Dinvaut in St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana, from her position as district attorney was launched on February 9, 2015. The petition effort was abandoned on August 10, 2015.[1][2]
Background
Dinvaut was elected district attorney after her opponent, incumbent Tom Daley, withdrew from the runoff election scheduled for early December 2014. According to the Louisiana District Attorneys Association, Dinvaut was one of three women and the first African-American to be elected to the position of district attorney in the state.[3]
