Brittany Bramell is a Republican communications specialist. As of June 2017, she was the assistant administrator of public affairs for the Transportation Security Administration.[1]
She was the communications director for Lindsey Graham's 2016 presidential campaign.[2] Bramell previously worked as the director of press operations for Sen. John McCain's (R) 2008 presidential campaign and was the press secretary for Speaker of the House Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) from 2011 to 2013.[3]
Career
Early career
After graduating from Santa Clara University in 2007, Brittany Bramell worked on the 2008 presidential campaign of John McCain as the director of press operations.[3][4]
Bramell worked as the press secretary for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R) in his 2009 campaign.[3] After Christie won his election, Bramell became deputy communications director for Chris Dudley, a former NBA player who ran for Governor of Oregon in 2010.[5]
John Boehner press secretary
Bramell spent two years as the press secretary for Speaker of the House Rep. John Boehner, joining the staff in 2011.[6] Bramell left Boehner's office in December 2013.[7]
In 2014, Bramell worked as the deputy campaign manager for communications and operations for Neel Kashkari's gubernatorial campaign in California.[8]
Lindsey Graham presidential campaign, 2016
On January 29, 2015, Lindsey Graham formed Security Through Strength, a "testing the waters" committee that could underwrite his activities while gauging interest in a presidential run.[9] Brittany Bramell joined the committee on March 16, 2015.[10] Graham announced his presidential campaign on June 1, 2015, and Bramell transitioned from Security Through Strength to the role of communications director for the campaign.[11][12] Of her decision to join Graham, Bramell said: "I decided to work for Sen. Graham because he is prepared to be commander-in-chief on Day 1."[13] Graham withdrew from the race on December 21, 2015, after finding it difficult to win a significant level of support. On the day he dropped out, Real Clear Politics listed Graham with a national polling average of 0.5 percent.[14]
Uber
In May 2016, Bramell joined ride sharing company Uber as the company's communications director in Washington, D.C. At Uber, according to DCInno, Bramell was hired to focus on communications in Uber's federal affairs division.[15]
Transportation Security Administration
On June 19, 2017, Politico reported that Bramell had left Uber to join the Transportation Security Administration. She was hired as the assistant administrator of public affairs.[1]
