A Brook Park City Safety Director Amendment measure was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Cuyahoga County, which is in Ohio where it was defeated.
This measure proposed to amend the Brook Park City Charter to eliminate the Safety Director position. This measure was on the ballot by petition.[1]

Text of measure
Language on the ballot:
“ | Shall the Charter of Brook Park Article III, Section 3.01, and Article VIII, Sections 8.01 and 8.02, be amended to provide that commencing with the term beginning January 1, 2014, the Mayor shall serve as Public Safety Director and fulfill the obligations of Article VIII of this Charter, and that there shall be no additional compensation for the Safety Director position; and shall Article IV, Section 4.01, be amended to provide that there be a Council of six (6) members, four (4) of whom shall be elected from the several wards, two (2) of whom shall be elected at-large, and the one (1) at-large who receives the highest number of votes shall be elected as President of Council; shall and Article IV, Section 4.03(b), be amended to provide that Council shall no longer elect from among its members, a President Pro Tem?[1][2] | ” |
