On July 8, 2022, San Francisco Mayor London Breed appointed Jenkins to serve as interim San Francisco District Attorney after former District Attorney Chesa Boudin was recalled from office on June 7, 2022.[1] On November 8, 2022, Jenkins won the special election to fill the rest of Boudin's term.
