Brooke C. Wells was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of Utah. She was appointed to this position on June 4, 2003. She retired at the end of her term on June 3, 2019.[1][2]

Education

Judge Wells received her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Utah. She then earned her J.D. degree from the University of Utah's S. J. Quinney School of Law in 1977.[3]

Career

After law school, Judge Wells moved to San Antonio, Texas, and worked as a legal services lawyer for two and a half years. She returned to Utah and worked in the Utah Legal Defenders Office for almost 15 years. She then became an assistant U.S. attorney in 1994. She was chief of the violent crimes section until she was appointed a federal magistrate judge in 2003.[3]
