Broughton M. Earnest
Broughton M. Earnest was a judge for the Second Circuit Court for Talbot County in Maryland.[1] He was appointed to the court by Governor Martin O'Malley on December 3, 2007, and assumed the bench on December 21, 2007.[2][3] His current term was to expire in 2023, but Earnest retired from the court on November 17, 2013, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70.[4][3]
Education
Earnest received his undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University in 1965 and his LL.B. degree from the University of Virginia in 1968.[3]
Career
Before he became a judge, Earnest was a managing partner of the Easton office of DLA Piper. He also previously served as a deputy state's attorney for Talbot County and as an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.[3]
