Bruce Hunter
Bruce Hunter (Democratic Party) was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing District 34. He assumed office on January 1, 2003. He left office on January 1, 2023.
Hunter (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 34. He won in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Biography
Bruce Hunter was born in Alma, Wisconsin. As of 2019, he lived in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Ellendale High School in Ellendale, Minnesota. He attended Winona State University and Saint Cloud State University. Hunter’s career experience includes working for Iowa Student Loans and Citi Group. He also worked as the president of the Davenport Jaycees and district director of the Iowa Jaycees. He has volunteered for Animal Lifeline and LifeServe Blood Center.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Incumbent Bruce L. Hunter was unopposed in the Democratic primary and faced Thomas W. Hess (R), who filed to run on July 25, 2014, in the general election.[7][8][9] Incumbent Hunter defeated Hess in the general election.[10]

On November 4, 2008, Hunter was re-elected to the 62nd District Seat in the Iowa House of Representatives, defeating Chris Sanger (R).[14] Hunter raised $17,085 for his campaign, while Sanger raised $4,152.[15]
