Bruce Kasold is a federal judge on senior status with the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. He joined the court in 2003 after being nominated by President George W. Bush. Kasold served as chief judge of the court from 2010 to 2015.[1]

Education

Kasold attended the United States Military Academy and graduated with a B.S. degree. He went on to earn his J.D. from University of Florida, graduating cum laude. He later attended Georgetown University for an LL.M. and the Judge Advocate General's Graduate School for an LL.M. equivalent.[1]

Military service

Kasold served in the Air Defense Artillery and Judge Advocate General's Corps. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.[1]

Judicial career

Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims

Kasold was nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims by President George W. Bush on December 13, 2003. He was confirmed by the Senate and began duty on December 31, 2003. Kasold became the chief judge in 2010 and served until 2015. He entered into senior status in December of 2016[1][2]
