Career

From 1994 to 1995, Bruce Thompson was a clerk for Judge Jack L. Cozort of the North Carolina Court of Appeals.[1][6] From 1995 to 1998, he was an assistant attorney general in North Carolina. Since 1998, he has practiced law with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP lawfirm in Raleigh, N.C.[1] He is a partner and head of the government and public policy practice group[2]

Bruce Thompson was a North Carolina adviser and served on the national finance committee for Hillary Clinton's (D) 2008 campaign for the Democratic nomination for President.[6] He was a delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention from North Carolina.[4][5] He was legal counsel to former U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan's (D) 2008 campaign. He was also an adviser in North Carolina for the Obama/Biden 2008 general election campaign.[6] In 2012, he was outside counsel for former U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre's (D) successful campaign for North Carolina's 7th Congressional District.[6] He is a member of Hillary Clinton's (D) national finance committee for her 2016 presidential campaign.[3]

Thompson was called a member of Hillary Clinton's North Carolina "A-Team" by CBS News in 2008.[7] In 2012, he was named to the list of Top 500 Influencers in American Politics by Campaigns & Elections Magazine.[8]
