Bruce Zalaski
Bruce "Zeke" Zalazki is a former Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing District 81 from 2003 to 2013. He was the assistant House majority whip and served on the Southington Democratic Town Committee.
Biography
Zalaski's professional experience includes working for Associated Spring, Imperial Spring of Southington, and Citizens National Bank.
He is president of the United Auto Workers Connecticut Community Action Program Council and chair of the Connecticut Family Credit Union.[1]

2008
On November 4, 2008, Zalaski won re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives from Connecticut's 81st District, defeating Dan Banici (R) and Timothy Knibbs (Concerned Citizens). Zalaski received 7,155 votes in the election while Banici received 3,290 votes, and Knibbs received 323 votes.[3] Zalaski raised $9,967 for his campaign; Banici raised $1,686.[4]

The Yankee Institute, a pro-market think tank, releases its Voter Guide after each two-year legislative term. Each member of the Connecticut General Assembly receives a score from 0 to 10 based on how he or she voted in ten key votes. The Institute selects key votes which "reveal the differences between those legislators that would harness the power of individual liberty and the market to improve lives, and those that prefer a centrally-planned approach." A legislator with a 10 voted in agreement with the Yankee Institute on all 10 votes, while a legislator with a 0 voted against the Yankee Institute's views or was absent for all 10 votes.[5]

Zalaski received a score of 0 on the Yankee Institute's Voter Guide for 2011-12, tied with 72 others for the lowest score among the 152 scored members of the Connecticut House of Representatives. This score was 2 lower than his score of 2 for the 2009-10 term.[5]
