Bryan Nelson is the former District 2 representative on the Orange County Board of County Commissioners in Orange County in Florida. He sereved from 2014 to 2018.

Nelson previously served as a Republican member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 38 from 2006 to 2012 and District 31 from 2012 to 2014.[1]

Nelson earned a bachelor's degree in ornamental horticulture from the University of Florida.[1]

Nelson's experience includes working as the president of Nelson's Insurance Services, president of Nelson's Florida Roses, president and chair of the Orange County Zoning Board, president of the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce, president of the Florida Foliage Association, member of the Community Action Board, member of the Orange County Citizens Review Board, and member of the Apopka Zoning Board of Adjustment.[1][2]

Nelson won election in the 2012 election for Florida House of Representatives District 31. Nelson ran unopposed in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012, and was unchallenged in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[3]

Nelson ran for re-election to the 38th District seat in 2010. He did not have any opposition in the August 24 primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010. Nelson defeated James Heinzelman, who ran for the seat on the Florida Tea Party ticket.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Nelson won re-election to the Florida House of Representatives from Florida's 38th District, defeating Lonnie Thompson (D) and Lawrence Fisher (NPA). Nelson received 33,889 votes in the election while Thompson received 27,302 votes, and Fisher received 1,595 votes.[5] Nelson raised $218,808 for his campaign; Thompson raised $15,858, and Fisher raised $1,365.[6]
