Campaign website

Newell’s campaign website stated the following:

  • Corruption with Elected Officials: It's amazing how some elected officials get elected and a few terms later they are multimillionaires and yet they can't balance the budget or fix the deficit. They say it's from sound investments. In the real world they call it Insider Trading, ask Martha Stewart. That's why I support the Pelosi Act or any bill preventing elected leaders from owning securities and investments. Maybe that's why unfortunately its not being brought out on the house floor for a vote.
  • Drug Cartels Listed as Terrorist Organizations: Over 100,000 people have died from the drugs pouring across the border. The trafficking of children in the sex trade. Cartel coyotes escorting immigrants across the border for over $6000 a person. children walking carrying a bag of day-after pills because she knows she will be raped along the way. These cartels should be destroyed, but until then we should seize their assets, and find and shut down money laundering operations. We should lock them down so tight that the cartels would be applying for asylum and food stamps. It was reported in 2018 that "the cash-rich cartels are believed by the Mexican government to generate well over $21 billion each year. What do you think it's up to now?
  • Negligent Spending: It has been reported in 2018 the federal government funded over 374 million dollars in grants for the most ridiculous projects. Ask these questions. How does it improve the Country, how does improve the State, how does it improve the people? if it can't answer those questions maybe it shouldn't be approved. Do you ever wonder why we have a staggering inflation and a skyrocketing deficit? When we allocate money to the NSH, NSF for example. I want oversite to determine our return on investment. and approval /disapproval recommendations for future government funding. This allows the American people know what our government wants to spend our hard-earned tax money on. Grants going out to research on Japanese Quail sex habits on cocaine for $1.1M, Panamanian tree frog mating calls for $479,000, Smiling selfies for $500,000 are just a few wasteful habits our tax money should not be funding. (2) The term used in the government, especially in the Military "Use it or Lose it" Money is allocated to each unit if not used by the end of the physical year you will not receive the same amount the next year. so there is massive spending in August and September to use all funds. This has been going on for decades it is unsustainable and negligent spending. This is a loss of millions each year. How about rollover money and top off their allotted money every year? The funding scale they are still using is so outdated. America we are smarter than this. Congressional earmarks are great for the district, but a lot are greatly overinflated. Even though we have new rules and regulations on earmark requests. There needs to be better congressional common sense and oversite on cost and return on investment because if we are not careful there will be another road to nowhere.
  • Term Limits: We have term limit proposals in Congress that have not been brought forward for a vote. Why? Because if it was to pass 50 percent of congress would not be able to seek reelection. America, we have a problem! We have a house full of career establishment politicians with no teamwork experience, no leadership experience, and no passion for developing solutions for the problems that arise on their watch. They sit up there 20, 30, 40, 50 years running on problems they help create year after year. I’m tired of our so called representatives acting as if they are the royalty and we are the peasants. I want Term limits. 6 terms for Congress, 2 terms for Senate. On second thought maybe it us that is the problem. I have gone to car shows, festivals, events and business's and at least 60% have no idea who their congressman is. Maybe it is the uninformed and uninspired voters that is the problem, but They know who is running for President and Senate. Our current congressman has had only three opponents in a primary in the last 20 years. In 2022 only 86,461 voted in our primary, that is sad. He went into the general election with 190,406 total voters, that's still sad because in the previous presidential year there was 322,234 total voters. Wake up Alabama! We have now 477,786 registered active voters in the new 3rd congressional district, get out and vote.
  • Gun Control: I support the Second Amendment. The only gun control needed is how to use your gun properly to defend yourself and your family. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Over 46,000 people died in the United States last year due to vehicle accidents. You don't see the government trying to ban vehicle manufacturing.
  • Immigration: We can't put the cat back in the bag, illegal immigrants are spread across America with asylum claim dates spread out for 3-4 years. Asylum laws are the loophole in our border security. Why don't we enforce the laws we have. According to violation 8 United States code 1325 is not being fully enforced, but yet it is vague. Alien's can claim legal asylum at a port of entry, not wherever they cross. If elected I will work to add to the U.S. code and update or change asylum laws, Congress is the lawmaking branch of the federal government. Until that happens. How about putting up signs written in Spanish, "Warning Crossing the border is illegal. You will be deported. asylum and legal entry can be done at port of entry", with a arrow pointing and mileage to the nearest port of entry. "America Its Not Rocket Science!" For the ones here already, allow them to apply for temporary work visas till their asylum court date. This allows them to work anywhere and (1)Pay taxes, (2) get vetted and (3) Apply for legal immigration in their country of origin.
  • Alabama Rural Improvement Program: This is my dream for Alabama. As you go through rural Alabama you see houses that people live in. Weeds up to your chest, the roof leaks when it rains, the plumbing leaks, needs a wheelchair ramp, and maybe new paint. Most of the people who live in these places are elderly and physically or financially unable to fix the issues. Offering a helping hand just like the churches have been doing for years. People helping people. We don't have to reinvent the wheel the blueprint is already working with the churches. I want to expand the idea.
  • Your Voice in Congress: We don’t need the leadership for us the leadership is needed in Congress. We know what we want, what we don’t want, what we need, and what we don’t need. We need our voices to be heard. That’s why when I’m elected, I will have a weekly open Zoom conference call from 6 pm to 8 pm one night of the week where anyone can walk into my local Alabama office and talk to me one-on-one and explain their problem and see what I can do for them. That is what I call being your voice in Congress. Our country declared its independence and went to war over taxation without representation. What do you have right now? "Your voice in Congress, It's a horrible thing to waste"
  • Social Issues: I want a total end to biological men entering women's sports. What happened to Title 9? What happened to allow girls to participate in sports get scholarships attempt the Olympics, and attempt greatness? allowing biological men in women's sports is a slap in the face to all women. 20 years ago we were disgusted to find out 31 countries practicing female genital mutilation on the news. We wanted these countries to stop. Most were religious reasons some were traditions. either reason it was horrible. Today we have the same thing here. Not because of religion or tradition but because of social issues. Why did transgender spike in GEN-Z in America and not so much in other countries? Why is it mostly men who are transgender? I have my opinion but it's based on research, experience, and faith in God. If anyone wants to have a conversation on this issue or other social problems. I have e-mail.
  • Israel war: I support Israel just like our country always has. This is why. Numbers 24:9 NLT 9 Like a lion, Israel crouches and lies down; like a lioness, who dares to arouse her? Blessed is everyone who blesses you, O Israel, and cursed is everyone who curses you.”[3]
