Louisiana elections use the majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50 percent of the vote. I am a lifelong resident of St. Tammany Parish and currently reside in Pearl River, Louisiana with my husband Charles. We have been blessed with five children; two of which are foster/adopt, and six grandchildren. Since the death of our oldest son in 2014, we, like many other grandparents, have been raising our two grandsons. My early career was spent working in the finance industry in New Orleans. In 2003, my husband and I opened C&J Sewer Treatment Systems, and we have provided quality sewer services to the residents of rural St. Tammany Parish for the last twenty years.
  • I will work to eliminate the complexity of the insurance industry in order to make rates more affordable.
  • I will work to modernize the tax structure so that companies will be enticed to move to Louisiana. More jobs will be created, and Louisiana will be more competitive with the other southern states.
  • I will work to ensure that all children in my district and beyond are given the opportunity to learn and excel.
I believe that for our district, and Louisiana as a whole to prosper we need to address the three aforementioned areas along with the rising crime rate and out-of-control governmental spending.
State Representatives need to understand the needs of their district and bring those needs to the legislature. My main responsibility as the State Representative for District 74 will be to remain in constant communication with our residents and find creative ways to improve their quality of life while also watching out for all residents of Louisiana.
I would never compromise on my core values but I do believe that working together is the key to bettering the state of Louisiana.
