This measure sought to create a bond in the amount of $15 million in order to be able to build a new jail for the county. The county was in desperate need for a replacement jail, lawsuits have continued to arise about the conditions of the jail and since this bond was not approved county officials noted that something will still need to be done about the issue.[2]
