A Burley City Public Library Tax Levy Increase question was approved on the May 21, 2013, election ballot in Cassia and Minidoka Counties, which are in Idaho.
This measure authorized the City of Burley to renew a property tax levy of $231,000 per year for two years to fund the operations and maintenance of the Burley City Public Library.[1]

SHALL THE LEVY UPON THE TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF BURLEY BE INCREASED TO PRODUCE THE SUM OF TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-ONE THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($231,000.00) IN EXCESS OF THAT OTHERWISE ALLOWED BY LAW, FOR EACH OF THE TAX YEARS 2013 AND 2014, TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR THE BURLEY PUBLIC LIBRARY AS PROVIDED IN RESOLUTION NO. 3-13 OF THE BURLEY CITY COUNCIL ADOPTED ON THE 19TH DAY OF MARCH, 2013?[1][2] |

Support
Supporters of this measure asked voters to renew this operating tax that supplies about 50% of the operational costs of the library because the library is well used and an important part of the city. According to the library board of trustees circulation is up 99.9% and children and teen program attendance has risen by 200% since 2006.[3]
