Burns Phillips
Burns Phillips is a former Tennessee Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development. He was appointed to the position by Governor Bill Haslam on March 18, 2013, following the abrupt resignation of Karla Davis.[1] He served until January 2019.
Biography
Phillips is the founder of a surgical instrument company. He was serving as managing director of the Department of Finance and Administration when he was named as Tennessee Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development in March 2013. He previously worked for the Transportation Department.[2]
