I am a U.S. Army combat veteran, Las Vegas native, husband, father, and community leader. Since my return home in 2012 from overseas service, I have found many ways to engage the community. I am currently serving my sixth year as a mentor in the Veteran's Treatment Court Program, I am a board of trustee for Congregation Ner Tamid, an advisory board member for the Youth Leadership Authority, an instructor with the Nevada Coalition for Suicide Prevention, and founder of the Nevada Veterans Alliance. Previously, I served for three years on the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Departments Use of Force Board. I believe there is a distinction between living gin a community and being a part of the community, obviously I have chosen the latter.
  • Student Empowerment- One of the greatest assets our community and higher education facilities have is its students.
  • Campus Safety- Our education institutions must remain a safe place for students of all genders, age, race, religion, political ideology, special needs, and disability.
  • Affordable Education- Higher education in the state of Nevada must be affordable.
I am passionate about education as my son is enrolled in the public education system. I am serving my third year as an elected member to the School Organization Team and I have testified in front of education boards at the local level and state level regarding education policy and implementation. My wife is the president of our schools Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and as a family we continually engage with parents, administrators, teachers, and professors to support best practice education agenda.
