The November 4, 2014, general election in Portsmouth Public Schools featured five seats up for election. Of the five seats, four were for a full term, and one seat was for an unexpired term. Three incumbents, Joseph A. Fleming, Claude C. Parent Jr. and Linda D. Ridenour, faced off against six challengers to retain their seats for another full term. The challengers were C.J. Bodnar, Lynn F. Briley, Kintrell M. Devin, Laura MacIntyre, Cardell C. Patillo Jr. and Ingrid P. Whitaker. Incumbent Mark Whitaker did not file for re-election. Appointed board member Laural Armstrong competed against challenger Sarah Duncan Hinds for an unexpired term ending in 2016.

Fleming, Whitaker, Parent and Patillo were elected to a full at-large term. Hinds won election to the unexpired seat.
