Blake ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Rhode Island's 1st District. Blake lost to incumbent Rep. David N. Cicilline (D) on November 6, 2012.[2]
Blake also filed to run in District 58 of the Rhode Island House of Representatives and was opposed in the Independent primary on September 11 by John T Monahan. The general election was on November 6.[3]
