One seat on the Caddo Parish Public Schools school board in Louisiana was up for special election on November 13, 2021. The District 7 seat became vacant on April 6, 2021, when Raymond Green resigned to spend more time with his family.[1] A general election, if necessary, was held on December 11, 2021. The filing deadline for this election was July 16, 2021.

On September 9, 2021, Gov. John Bel Edwards signed an executive order postponing the state's fall elections due to damage from Hurricane Ida. The primary, originally scheduled for October 9, was changed to November 13. The general election, originally scheduled for November 13, was changed to December 11.[2]

Louisiana elections use the Louisiana majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50% of the vote. If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.
