Cade Brumley
Cade Brumley is the Louisiana Superintendent of Education. He assumed office on June 8, 2020.
Biography
Prior to his appointment as state superintendent of education, Brumley was the superintendent of the Jefferson Parish School System. He has also previously served as the superintendent of the DeSoto Parish School System. Brumley's professional experience also includes teaching as a university-level adjunct professor. He earned a bachelor's degree in education from Northwestern State University, a master's of education degree in school administration from Louisiana State University-Shreveport, and a doctorate in education from Stephen F. Austin State University.[1]

Louisiana Superintendent of Education (June 2020–Present)
Brumley was appointed by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education on May 20, 2020, following the resignation of former superintendent John White in March 2020.[2] The Louisiana State Senate confirmed Brumley on June 1, 2020, and he assumed office on June 8.[3]
About the office
The Louisiana Superintendent of Education is a state executive position in the Louisiana state government. The constitutionally established office is appointed by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and serves as head of the Department of Education.[4]
