I am nurse, farmer, and advocate. I am a proven leader and voice for my community. Currently serving as an elected Republican Party Precinct Delegate for Clinton County, Eagle Township, I have been active in the Republican Party for nearly 40 years. I am the only candidate for the 77th House District to be endorsed by Farm Bureau, Citizens For Traditional Values, and the Clinton County Sheriff.
  • I will introduce and support legislation to repeal the tax increase Democrats imposed on Michigan families.
  • I support more funding for public safety to fight crime. I oppose sanctuary cities and designated sanctuary areas in Michigan
  • I fully support agriculture. I support funding agricultural education and research, and programs that provide vocational training for all. I support restoring local control of all wind and solar development projects. I also support the clean up and use of brown sights for industrial and affordable housing development, instead of viable farm land.
I am passionate about the following areas of public policy:
health, education, agriculture, and economic development, and housing.
The characteristics I feel are most important for an elected offical are: Integrity and willingness to listen and understand the needs of the citizens in the district. Also, accessibility to legislators by citizens.
As a nurse, I learned the importance verifiable clinical outcomes play in the role of healthcare. In addition, being able to assess and react quickly are skills that I possess. I have served in leadership roles and provided education to both nurses and physicians on policy, high tech medical devices , and study backed techniques. I have assisted in and taken the lead on writing and evaluation of policy. I have also served in leadership roles of healthcare and other associations. I have been an educator at a community college, as well as for medical manufacturers, and facilities. As a case manager, I served as an advocate for those with catastrophic injuries. In addition, I have spend countless hours volunteering as trainer and handler of animals utilized healthcare, education, and other settings. Compassion for others has always been a key characteristic brought into everything I do.
I worked at a fruit processing co-op throughout highschool and college. I learned a lot about the Michigan agricultural industry and how farmers, small business, and industry can co-exist, providing jobs to the community, as well as, sustainable food products. Innovation and sustainability were the key to success . I learned that local, state, U.S., and world politics played a huge role in the success of the agricultural industry. I also learned a work ethic of long hours and staying until the work is done. In addition, I learned the value in both education and skilled training opportunities.
It is helpful to understand how the legislature functions. As someone that has monitored house bills, attended legislative events, contacted legislators, and made public comments in committee regarding proposed bills, I feel I have unique experience that is clearly beneficial. Also, having served on many statewide organizations in an elected capacity better prepares me for the representing my community.
In order to successfully gain support of other legislators, a solid working relationship must be present. Also, a willingness to compromise without selling out the needs of the citizens within the district.
Michigan Farm Bureau, Citizens For Traditional Values , Clinton County Sheriff.
Health, education, agriculture, economic development, and housing.
Elected officials should be prohibited from signing nondisclosure agreements that prevent citizens from knowing about proposed developments or other changes to their community. Financial transparency is a must in government.
