As a representative of the district, a contributor to its economic fabric, and someone who's invested in its future, I've seen our potential. I'm driven to spark economic growth, elevate our schools, and prioritize mental health. Join me in shaping a district where dreams are nurtured, schools shine, and well-being takes center stage. Together, let's inspire a community where every achievement lights the way for a brighter future.
Economic development isn't just a buzzword; it's a commitment to shaping a future where every resident has the chance to thrive. I believe in providing not just jobs but meaningful careers—opportunities that can transform lives.

To achieve this, we need to strategically attract industries that offer not only employment but long-term, sustainable careers. This requires a comprehensive approach, including targeted training programs to equip our workforce with the skills demanded by these industries.

In particular, I'm passionate about leveraging the potential of technology and new-age manufacturing. These sectors not only drive innovation but also present unique opportunities for individuals who may not hold traditional college degrees. By investing in training and education tailored to these fields, we can unlock doors for a broader range of our community, ensuring that everyone has access to the opportunities of the future.

My vision for economic development is rooted in inclusivity, sustainability, and the belief that every resident should have the chance to build a meaningful career. Together, let's shape an economic landscape that works for everyone in District 41.

Campaign website

Theodros' campaign website stated the following:

Caleb was a student at Harding High School who noticed the lack of access that he and his peers from the west-side received compared to other sides of town. He’s running for Charlotte City Council District 3 so that through transportation, economic development, and creating a safer area for our kids, we may see everyone in our community have an equal chance to thrive.
  • The right to live where you work: which means work with individuals, families, and seniors to develop the affordable housing options that we need now in Charlotte. I am committed to moving forward to create real solutions, for the real families and seniors I speak to every day. The lack of affordable housing options is hurting everyone in our local economy, including our low income and middle income families. We need our solutions to be forward thinking and intentional; like prioritizing our housing dollars in transit oriented sites. Areas near light rail and transit, to build needed affordable housing and walkable communities along transit lines.

  • The right to participate in our economy: Government needs to be an ally to our community members who are willing and able to work. We need to create and promote good stable jobs, and recognize that women and people of color are disproportionately represented among low-wage workers. We can do this by also focusing on our manufacturing sector. Manufacturing is a complex industry, where District 3 is home to so many of these companies. An industry where you don’t need to have a college degree, but if you’re willing to invest in yourself and receive the proper training, they you won’t only have a job, but a career.

  • The right to be safe from violence in our communities: Using a holistic approach, by including communities and our private partner, we can address this growing problem. We need to approach crime through the same same sense that the public health looks at problems, which is through preventative lens. We often address these issues after someone has been sent to prison or the hospital, but we often find ourselves too late. We need to increase our investments to organizations like the Mayor’s Youth Employment program, where we’re giving our young folks positive and productive things to do outside of school.

  • The right to affordably travel anywhere in the city: As your City Councilmember, I will push to expedite projects to better connect our city so we have safe streets, bikable and walkable communities, and public transportation solutions. But transportation conversation can’t only be about our light rail system. We need more bussing options for our district including more accountable from those who work at CATS. No one riding the bus should be reprimanded at work because their bus was running late.

Put simply, Caleb is running for Charlotte City Council District 3 because now, more than ever, we need a new generation of leaders who will push for bold solutions to our most pressing problems, while understanding and having learned from community partners and leaders who have been here for decades. If elected, Caleb will be a passionate advocate for protecting the rights of our families and will fight each and every day for the people of the District 3.[2]

Scorecards

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
