I am a father of 3 adult children and have 4 grandchildren. I am currently the Chair of the Franklin County GOP and have been active in politics for the past 5 years. I am not a career politician. I believe in term limits and citizen legislators, which is the model our founders set up for us. I have been reared in church as a pastor's son and believe as John Adams stated, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Professionally I am a real estate appraiser and real estate broker, however I got here by working my way into this career while being employed at the Toyota factory in Georgetown. It was not given to me easily, I worked hard for it like the many blue collar people I hope to represent in the Kentucky State Senate. I intend to bring fresh ideas in hopes of making Kentucky first instead of last, a leader and model for the nation rather than trailing behind neighboring states. I believe in freedom and you cannot achieve freedom by adding red tape and legislation, but rather removing it.

I look up to my parents. Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;). I have seen my parents work hard through good times and bad to provide for myself and my siblings while instilling biblical principles in our life. They have done so with honor and integrity.
Bible, Constitution, Republican Party Platform is how I would make decisions. Other books would be The Federalist and any founding documents.

Constitutional Originalist

Independence, willing to make fact based decisions, not emotional ones
Honestly, staying up on election night when I was 7 years old to see Ronald Reagan beat Mondale.
I took the work path to life. I have college level classes, but my first real job was McDonalds (I did throw newspapers as a youth, learning the value of work at an early age). I started at McDonalds as a typical teenager and worked my way into management working there for 5 years. At 20 years old, I owned a brand new house and car while my peers were still in college, all on a McDonalds Management Salary. At the age of 21, I started at the Toyota Factory in Georgetown, taking the necessary classes to obtain my real estate license and certified residential appraisal license and doing 2 jobs before finally going into real estate full time in 2009.
Bible. It has been a guiding book of wisdom and truth in my life
I believe in the constitutional roles of each through distribution of powers. The legislature passes law and th governor enacts it. Section 28 of the Kentucky Constitution says "One department not to exercise power belonging to another." Section 81 of the Kentucky Constitution says "Governor to enforce laws" It really should be kept that simple
With the increase in electric and hybrid vehicles and road funding model, this will need to be addressed creatively. I do not support new gas taxes and we must address our current model of road funding.
No, this is simply a term for career politicians. Parliamentary procedure is something anyone can learn and is simply "the job." People are elected for their ideas, policy stances, and wisdom (no knowledge of the job). In Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg address, he stated "that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government OF the PEOPLE,
BY the PEOPLE, FOR the PEOPLE, shall not perish from the earth." Ironic that he mentions freedom while speaking of a government of, by, and for the people. This was no accident. In order to achieve this style of government, we must actively seek the people of normal jobs, not previous "experience"
