A special election to fill the seat representing California's 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House will be held in 2026. A top-two nonpartisan primary are scheduled for June 2, 2026. The general election will be held August 4, 2026. The filing deadline is April 9, 2026.[1]
The special election will fill the vacancy left by Doug LaMalfa (R), who died on January 6, 2026.
