The California India Basin Proposition, also known as Proposition 3, was on the ballot in California on November 3, 1908, as a legislatively referred state statute. It was defeated. The measure would have provided for the issuance of bonds to pay the indebtedness incurred for the acquisition of an area for a tidal basin to extend the area of the India basin on the water front of the city of San Francisco.[1][2]
