A California Resident Deportation Ban Initiative (#14-0010) did not qualify for the November 8, 2016 ballot in California as an initiated constitutional amendment.
The measure would have prohibited the use of “state, county, or city funds or resources” to detain and deport a resident of California.[1]
Supporters of the initiative referred to it as the "Protect Our Family Initiative".

- Barton C. Gilbert submitted a letter requesting a title and summary on September 9, 2014.
- A title and summary were issued by California's attorney general's office on October 29, 2014.
- 807,615 valid signatures were required for qualification purposes.
- The 150-day circulation deadline for #14-0010 was March 30, 2015.
- The California Secretary of State's office announced the measure failed to collect enough signatures on April 24, 2015.
