The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle. It's my favorite book because it helped me navigate a tough time in my life by teaching me to detach from my own ego. In turn, this led me the discovery that I need to be more selfless, leading to my main mission of helping people.
Keeping people from leaving California. The current elected officials have made this state almost unliveable. From high taxes to high crime rates, Californian residents are fleeing the state in record numbers because of poor decision making by state legislators.
No, because career politicians bear a huge part of the responsibility for the current issues we are facing. The manner in which current legislators have been governing doesn't work. They have consistently taken actions that only benefit themselves, at the expense of their suffering constituents. Now is the time for change. This state desperately needs regular people to be in office, instead of professional politicians.
Yes, there has to be a give and take. In many instances, the solution is not left or right, it's somewhere in between.

The problems this state and country are facing presently is due to a lack of mental and idealogical flexibility. Both sides think they have the only right answer and the bickering that goes on doesn't lead to any solutions.

We need to work together because regardless of political party affiliation, we are all humans, living here on earth, at the same time in history. We are all connected, whether we realize it or not.
