Calvin Hill
Calvin Hill was a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 22 from 2002 to October 30, 2013. He passed away from leukemia on October 30, 2013.[1]
Hill served as the mayor of Ball Ground from 1992 to 1996.
Biography
Hill's professional experience included working as a businessman and Director of Cherokee Bank and owning a resort hotel in Belize. He served in the United States Marine Corps.[2]
Mystery illness
For a number of years, Hill suffered from a mystery illness which was referred to as "polyangiitis overlap syndrome." The illness, in which something in the body was killing his platelets, got Hill featured on the Discovery Channel's show Mystery Diagnosis. He got symptoms on and off, the most recent coming in February 2010, when he spent 2 weeks in the hospital.[3]

Hill ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 22. Hill ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[5] Hill ran unopposed in the general election.[6]

2010
Hill ran for re-election to the 21st District seat in 2010. He had no opposition in the July 20 primary. Hill defeated Stephanie Webb (D) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[7]

In 2008, Hill was re-elected to the Georgia House of Representatives District 21. Hill (R) ran unopposed and finished with 27,311 votes.[8] Hill raised $42,525 for his campaign fund.[9]
