The Judicial Update

March 12, 2011

St. Paul, Minnesota: A new order from the Minnesota Supreme Court states that, as of July 1, 2011, cameras, video cameras and audio devices may be allowed inside of courts during hearings of some civil cases. The cameras will only be allowed at the judge's discretion. This order will be in effect for two years, after which, the Supreme Court will decide whether or not to keep it. For criminal cases, the current law stands, which states that cameras are only allowed if all sides agree.[1]
