Cameron Costa attended public schools all his life. Cameron graduated from Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School with a concentration in Culinary Arts. He graduated from Bristol Community College with an Associates in Business Administration. May 2022, Cameron will graduate from UMass Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and a Minor in History. Also, Cameron is enrolled in UMass Dartmouth’s MBA program in Public Management. Cameron has seen the power of public education firsthand, and he is no stranger to fighting for the resources students, teachers, and parents need to support quality public schools. In 2021, Governor Charlie Baker appointed Cameron as a voting member to the Board of Higher Education. Cameron approached this position with humility and drive. With over 150,000 enrolled in Massachusetts schools, Cameron has petitioned the board to invest in programs that increase equity, close the achievement gap, bring awareness to sexual assaults on college campuses, and increase the economic resources of students. Cameron’s efforts have resulted in meaningful changes for students, teachers, and parents. Join the campaign, spread the word, and vote for Cameron!
  • Cameron Costa is launching his campaign for State Representative in the 9th Bristol District to represent the voices, needs, and ideas of all the great people who live in the 9th District
  • Technology is set to change the course of our economy within the next 5-10 years. We have already seen the shift to hybrid or fully remote work schedules in many industries and yet haven’t seen any comprehensive legislation to address consumer and worker protections. It is important that we have someone who grew up with it, understands it on a user level, and has an educational background that can adequately advocate protecting users in all forms.
  • The decision to run for state representative is one that was made with careful consideration, upon speaking with many residents from across the district. In these conversations, people felt the need for a change in local leadership because their voices have been left unheard. The South Coast has been left out of the conversation surrounding how to advance our great state forward.

My very first job was sweeping hair at a local barbershop. I worked there for 6 years.
My favorite book is Animal Farm by George Orwell because it has a little bit of politics and history, but also provides a light way of teaching the Russian Revolution.
