Whitten ran for Treasurer of Oregon in 2012.[1] He faced incumbent Ted Wheeler (Democratic, Working Families), Tom Cox (R), John Mahler (Libertarian) and Michael Paul Marsh (Constitution Party) in the general election on November 6, 2012, which Wheeler won.[2]
