A special election for the position of New Jersey General Assembly District 18 was called for November 8.

The special election was held to fill a remaining term. Robert Karabinchak (D) was appointed to the chamber on May 12, 2016, to replace Patrick Diegnan, Jr. (D), who was appointed to the state Senate.

Incumbent Robert Karabinchak (D) defeated Camille Ferraro Clark (R) in the special election.[1][2]
