Long defeated Nathan Clay, Christopher Batsche, Matthew Evans, Lyndle Spencer, Matthew Canovi, James Nelson, and Mary Byrne in the Republican primary, while Williams defeated Camille Lombardi-Olive, and Steven Reed to win the Democratic nomination.
