Authority

Missouri law requires all candidates for state offices, "elective municipal offices in municipalities of more than one hundred thousand inhabitants," and committees to file disclosure reports with the Missouri Ethics Commission. The commission is empowered to impose fines upon violators.[1]

Organization

Members of the Missouri Ethics Commission are appointed by the governor, with the consent of the senate, to four-year terms. The chair and vice-chair of the commission are elected biannually. Members are selected from different congressional districts, and no more than three can be from the same political party.[2]

Electronic reporting system

The Missouri Ethics Commission is required to maintain a listing of candidate expenditures and finances. The listing can be accessed here.
