In New Mexico, there is one primary agency involved in statewide campaign finance regulation: the New Mexico Secretary of State.
Authority
As the chief elections officer for the state, the secretary of state has authority over election and campaign finance laws and enforcement. The secretary of state may make rules for elections pursuant to the state election code, and has jurisdiction to enforce the code, with the assistance of the attorney general.[1]
Electronic reporting system
The secretary of state maintains an electronic reporting system for campaign finance. Candidates and PACs can file online, and reports can be publicly accessed. The system can be accessed here.
