Candidates announced for three seats on the DC Superior Court

Washington, D.C.: Nine potential candidates have been announced for three open seats on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Three candidates were recommended to President Obama for each of the vacancies on the court.
For the seat opened by the resignation of James E. Boasberg, the District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission recommends Peter Arno Krauthamer, Deputy Director for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, and Superior Court Magistrate Judges John McCabe and Elizabeth Carroll Wingo.
For the seat opened by the April retirement of John H. Bayly, Jr. the Commission recommends Joseph E. Beshouri, Magistrate Judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia; Laura Ellen Hankins, Special Counsel to the Director of the Public Defender Service of the District of Columbia; and Deputy Director in the Civil Division of the United States Department of Justice, Elizabeth Jane Shapiro.
For the seat opened by the May retirement of Stephanie Duncan-Peters, the Commission recommends attorney Danya Ariel Dayson; Superior Court Magistrate Judge Karen Howze; and Jason D. Tulley, Special Counsel to the Director of the Public Defender Service of the District of Columbia.
Obama has sixty days to select a nominee for each of the seats.[1]
