Candidates chosen to fill Kansas magistrate vacancy

Kansas: On Tuesday, October 11, attorney Taylor J. Wine was appointed to be the newest Osage County District Magistrate Judge after being interviewed, along with nine other candidates, by the 4th Judicial District Nominating Commission. The seat was made available after Judge Jon Stephen Jones retired on September 30. Wine's appointment will take effect when he is sworn in; as of writing, a date has not been set.[1]

Other candidates interviewed by the commission were: Darian P. Dernovish, Lawrence; Angela E. Stallbaumer, Scranton; Kathleen M. Neff, Overbrook; Wayne White, Scranton; Cynthia Jean Long, Topeka; Bissessarnath Ramcharan-Maharajh, Osage City; Scott L. Farmer, Osage City; and Gary L. Foiles, Lyndon.[1]
