Candidates for D.C. Superior Court chosen

Washington, D.C.: Three candidates were chosen by the District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission as potential judges of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia: Joseph E. Beshouri, Teresa Howie and Maria Elizabeth Raffinan. Their names were sent to President Obama, who will appoint one of them to replace Judge Odessa F. Vincent within 60 days.

  • Teresa Howie is an assistant U.S. attorney who has worked in the Superior Court Division as deputy chief since June of 2007.
  • Maria Elizabeth Raffinan has worked for the District of Columbia's Public Defender Service since 1999. She is currently the supervising attorney of the Trial Division.[1]
