Candidates qualify for Georgia State Senate special primary election

OMAHA, Georgia: Four candidates have qualified to appear on the ballot for the special election to fill the State Senate vacancy left by Bill Hamrick. Hamrick resigned in order to become a Superior Court Judge. Qualified Republican candidates include former House Speaker Glenn Richardson, Mike Dugan, Bill Hembree, and James Naughton. No Democratic candidates filed to run for election. The primary will be held in the district on November 6, 2012.[1]
