This included:

1,167 (59.2%) of the country's 1,971 state senate seats.
4,958 (91.6%) of the country's 5,413 state house seats.

Democrats with no Republican opposition:

943 Democratic candidates for state legislature had no Republican opponent in November. This included:

141 Democratic candidates for state senate.
802 Democratic candidates for state house.

Republicans with no Democratic opposition:

1057 Republican candidates for state legislature had no Democratic opponent in November. This included:

179 Republican candidates for state senate.
878 Republicans for state house.

1,167 state senate seats were up for election in 2010. 1,143 of these seats were partisan seats (24 seats -- the 24 seats that were up for election in Nebraska's nonpartisan unicameral -- are nonpartisan).

In 320 of these state senate contests, there was a major party candidate with no major party opposition. That comes to 28.0% of the 1,143 seats that feature partisan contests.
