Cafferata-Jenkins ran for election to the Second Judicial District Court.
Primary: She was successful in the primary on June 10, 2014, receiving 32.6 percent of the vote. She competed against John C. Hope, Jr. and incumbent Chuck Weller.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 42.4 percent of the vote. She competed against Judge Chuck Weller.

Education
Cafferata-Jenkins received her undergraduate degree from Penn State University in 1980, her master's degree in arts administration and nonprofit management from Golden Gate University in 1984, and her J.D. degree from the Golden Gate University School of Law in 1996.[3]
