My unique qualifications will contribute to successful Board governance as SCC ensures access to high-quality higher education in Southeast Nebraska from students with many different backgrounds, at distinct stages of their lives, with unique needs and goals. My campaign is focused on ensuring equity in access while maintaining excellent value for students and taxpayers. I want all students seeking higher education to feel welcomed and have the resources to access credit-bearing coursework, including students with disabilities and students whose first language is not English.

My primary educational background is advanced research in education, including application of educational policies with a PhD (2015) from the Educational Psychology Department at UNL. In addition, I have an MBA (2022, UNL), which adds to my capabilities of diligently completing the fiduciary responsibilities of the Board of Governors.

Since 2018, I have been on the South of Downtown Community Development Organization Board of Directors, which involves reviewing financial statements and making decisions about financial resources and expenditures for millions of dollars in assets.

I grew up in Omaha and originally came to Lincoln thanks to college scholarships, including the UNL Regents Scholarship, the UNL Honors Program Scholarship, and the Peter Kiewit Distinguished Scholarship, which had an explicit purpose of keeping the “best and bright brightest” students in Nebraska.
  • Commitment to access and equity in higher education for students in Southeast Nebraska.
  • All students seeking higher education, including students with disabilities and students whose first language is not English, can access credit-bearing coursework without added obstacles.
  • Actively protecting continued employment opportunities into the future as existing jobs become increasingly automation, through dynamic and state-of-the art programs and resources.
Improving equity of educational outcomes for students with different backgrounds.

Increasing degree attainments and career success for students with disabilities and students whose first language is not English.

Fighting multi-generational poverty through policies that improve access to education and stable homes.
