Carl B. Weckerle
Carl B. Weckerle was a candidate for an at-large seat on the Warren Board of Education in Michigan. The seat was up for general election on November 4, 2014. Carl B. Weckerle lost the general election on November 4, 2014. Weckerle also ran unsuccessfully for an at-large seat on May 3, 2011.
Biography
Carl B. Weckerle earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Wayne State University, and he is studying for a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Weckerle is employed as an administrator with Macomb Community College, where he manages the budgets and personnel of the Instructional Technology and Online Learning departments. Earlier in his career, he worked as a commercial fishing boat captain, classroom teacher and instructional designer.[1]
Weckerle serves as the vice president of the Siersma PTO and also participates on several district improvement committees. He and his wife, Pam, have three children who all attend Warren schools.[2][3]

2014
The election in Warren featured four seats up for general election on November 4, 2014. Incumbent Brian White ran against challengers Kaitlyn Schwab, Timothy Schwartz and Carl B. Weckerle for the two seats with four-year terms. Two incumbents, I. Susan Kattula and Elaine G. Martin, competed with Laura Hawatmeh and Andrew Laux for the two seats with six-year terms. White, Weckerle, Kattula and Martin campaigned together as an unofficial slate.[4]
Incumbent Brian White and Kaitlyn Schwab defeated Timothy Schwartz and Carl B. Weckerle for two seats with four-year terms, while incumbents I. Susan Kattula and Elaine G. Martin defeated challengers Laura Hawatmeh and Andrew Laux for two seats with six-year terms.

Funding
Weckerle reported $6,926.00 in contributions and $4,998.96 in expenditures during the election, which left him with $2,419.10 on hand according to the Macomb County Election Department.[5]
Endorsements
Weckerle received endorsements from the local chapters of the Michigan Education Association and the UAW.[6][7]
